We will take a walk through the village and continue our journey up the mountain to climb to 3,852m. Acjanacu this is the starting point of Manu National Park as we continue through the lowland rain forest full of beautiful Orchids, Ferns and primitive Heliconias. We bus down and then walk 30 minutes to see the famous national bird of Peru, Rupicola Peruviana, or Cock of the Rock in its mating ritual. We may also have the opportunity to see the birds Trogons, Quetzals, Tanagers and many more. In the evening we arrive at Pilcopata where we spend the night in a shelter.
After a hearty breakfast our bus will take us into the coca and coffee plantations where we visit families who harvest and grow the plants. We then continue to Puerto Atalaya, where we meet our private boat to head to the location where we will be camping. You can explore the vast flora and fauna in the afternoon after our lunch. At 3:00 pm we take a walk to the lagoon where we take in the beautiful Machuwasi wildlife refuge lake and catamaran ride, observing alligators and varieties of birds. After this we finish the evening by returning to our campsite.
On this day we will wake up very early and take the boat to go to the Green Parrot Collpa, afterwards sailing away to Andalusia to Puerto Atalaya where we hop onto a bus bringing us back to Cusco at about 6:00pm.
