The Inca Jungle Trek, is an amazing 4-day alternative tour where you can practice adventure sports like rafting, trekking, biking, and zip lining. It also includes some recently discovered Inca paths, archaeological remains, and beautiful mountains from the Abra Malaga. To the green valley and jungle basin of Santa Maria, the Inca Jungle Trek uses good equipment with an average group of 8-10 persons.
Day 1: Cusco – Pispitayoc (Biking and Rafting):
Following hotel pickup, you'll travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you'll travel through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes until reaching the mountain Abra Malaga.
From here, you'll embark on a 3-hour mountain bike ride. Pass through rural villages, rivers, reaching the area Huamanmarca. Later the private bus will take the group to Santa Maria, where you'll expereince white-water rafting rafting.
Those that didn’t book the rafting tour, will go with an assistant guide in our private bus to Santa Rosa, after this you'll walk until arriving at the lodge La Choza. The bus will later take the rafting group to Santa Rosa for a hike to the ecological lodge La Choza, located in the village Pispitayoc.
Day 2: Pispitayoc (Familiar House): Santa Teresa (Trekking)
After walking along the river, you'll start climbing. On your way, you'll see small coffee plantations, fruit trees, etc. In this area it is possible to see many types of plants, orchids, and birds. You'll observe the beauties of the high forest which is a paradise of biodiversity in the Inca jungle route.
After arriving to the top of the mountain, absorb views of Urubamba Valley. The group descend to the village Qellomayo. After the break, you'll trek for three hours, going through farms, rivers, and waterfalls until arriving at the hot water springs in Santa Teresa. Continue to walk until reaching the town Santa Teresa, where we will sleep at a familiar house.
Day 3: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes (Zip Line and Hiking):
Continue to explore the roads less traveled and start from the town Santa Teresa. The passengers that reserved in advance will enjoy the zip line, the rest of the group continue until reaching the Hydroelectrica, where the whole group will rejoin.
After a short break, the journey continues along the great Inca jungle, going through waterfalls, coca and coffee farms until arriving at the town Aguas Calientes. The group will be taken to the hostel around 4 pm. At night, head to a restaurant to have a great dinner and have a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Auguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco (Walking and visit to sanctuary)
The group go to Machu Picchu, following an ascending route through the high forest, where you'll have the chance to see the sunrise depending on speed. The private guide will shows you the sanctuary for aprox. 2hrs, later the group will be free to enjoy Machu Picchu on their own. The passengers that reserved the climbing to Huayna Picchu will have their adventure. In the afternoon the group will descend walking to Aguas Calientes, to rest or to buy souvenirs until the hour of departure of the train towards Ollantaytambo. Arrive late at night, around 12.30 am. The tour ends in Cusco´s main square.
